Hi! I’m Marit, 20 years old and from Germany.
I’ve spent a lot of time helping take care of my younger brother (he’s 13 now), so I know what everyday life with kids can be like – from homework and cooking to playing and just being there when they need someone. I’ve also worked as a tutor and took part in several school experience days at a primary school, which gave me even more insight into working with children. Through all of that, I realized: I really love spending time with kids – and luckily, they seem to like me too!
Right now, I’m studying psychology at university, which helps me understand how children think, feel, and develop – something I believe makes me a great fit as an au pair. I want to be a real part of a family, someone the kids can trust and have fun with, while also giving parents the chance to breathe and relax a little.
Besides spending time with children, I’m also really excited to experience the culture, everyday life, and nature of another country. I love discovering new places and getting to know how people live in different parts of the world – and I think being an au pair is the perfect way to do just that.
I speak English well, I’m friendly, reliable, and happy to help with household chores too. I don’t have a driver’s license yet, so I’d prefer to live in a bigger city with good public transport.
