Bonjour, I'm Valentin, a 20-year-old from southwestern France looking for new adventures full of excitement !
After two years in a preparatory course in Bordeaux and the start of a year at business school, I had to be hospitalized for health problems that plagued me throughout the year.
Now that I am back to 110%, I have decided to put my studies on hold to pursue my dreams: discovering a new culture, learning a new language, meeting wonderful people, and at the same time, being useful to others! I love children, I love teaching them new things, and that's why I decided to look into being an au pair (a cousin of mine did it in Australia and told me all about it in a very positive way).
Since I don't have any younger siblings (only a sister two years older), I've always loved spending time with children. They're always full of energy, curious about everything, and very expressive, and having fun with them and helping them is never boring—quite the opposite, in fact. All the more so because they also teach me many new things. I also know from my own experience that it's great when you're a kid to have someone a little older than you around. They're more understanding in certain ways than our parents, they help us develop, and they never refuse to buy us ice cream when we go out :)
I have been working as an au pair in Italy (Sacile) since September, where I look after two girls aged 5 and 8, and a 10-year-old boy. I help the family with household chores and do lots of activities with the children, both indoors and outdoors. I also help them with their homework and teach them French. I am also used to helping members of my family by babysitting on numerous occasions, I have helped my soccer club with the younger groups (training, tournaments, etc.), and I have helped many students with their homework throughout my studies. Having lived alone for two years in Bordeaux, I also know how to do many household chores, cook (at least well enough to survive), work in the garden (flower maintenance, chopping wood, gardening, hobby gardening...), and I also have a driver's license (no points deducted in two and a half years). I also know first aid, although I plan to take another course before I leave. I do not smoke and drink alcohol occasionally (only at parties or outside the home).
My hobbies are varied because I love discovering new things. I like reading and watching movies, playing board games and video games, and I play the guitar. I often go out, whether to a park, a museum, or to enjoy a delicious ice cream on the beach. And if your child is active and likes to move around, I'm all for it! I love sports (12 years of football) of all kinds and am always ready to get dirty on the field, whatever the weather.
I must say, however, that I don't know Japanese or Korean, but I would like to take lessons during my stay. As a french, I am a native french speaker and I am fluent in English with a solid foundation in Spanish. I am also learning italian right now :)
I have traveled extensively, but I have never had the opportunity to visit Asia. I am eager to immerse myself in this culture and discover all the exceptional landscapes and local customs !

In short, if you need a young person to accompany your children in their daily activities, help them discover new things while assisting you with your daily tasks, or simply have a relaxed chat about our different experiences, I would be delighted to be that “big brother” and become a new member of your family to share incredible and unforgettable moments for everyone!!
