Hello! My name is Debbie, and I'm originally from Costa Rica. For the past three years, I've been living independently in the Cayman Islands, an experience that has helped me grow into a responsible, adaptable, and confident person. Living abroad has taught me the importance of communication, respect, cultural awareness, and creating meaningful relationships with people from all over the world.

Professionally, I have worked in hospitality for more than three years. During that time, I earned a promotion to Supervisor, a role that allowed me to develop strong leadership, organization, problem-solving, and communication skills. Every day, I work with people from different cultures, manage busy situations with a calm attitude, and make sure everyone feels welcomed and cared for. I believe these same qualities are incredibly valuable when caring for children.

Although my professional background is in hospitality, one of the experiences I have enjoyed the most has been taking care of children. I have looked after children of different ages, and I truly love spending time with them. Whether we're playing outside, doing arts and crafts, reading stories, baking together, swimming, visiting parks, or simply talking about their day, I enjoy creating a safe, positive, and fun environment where children feel comfortable being themselves.

I would describe myself as patient, caring, energetic, organized, and trustworthy. I understand that every child has a unique personality, so I always try to adapt to their needs while encouraging kindness, creativity, confidence, and independence. I believe children learn best when they feel safe, respected, and supported.

Family is very important to me. I was raised with strong values such as respect, honesty, empathy, responsibility, gratitude, and helping others whenever possible. These are values I naturally bring into my daily life, and I would love to become part of a family that shares similar principles. My goal is not simply to be someone who watches the children but to become someone the family can genuinely trust and rely on.

I also enjoy cooking simple meals, keeping spaces organized, planning activities, spending time outdoors, and living an active lifestyle. I love nature, beaches, hiking, traveling, photography, and discovering new cultures. I believe these interests allow me to create fun and engaging experiences for children while encouraging curiosity and learning.

Being bilingual in Spanish and English is something I truly value. I would be happy to introduce your children to the Spanish language and Costa Rican culture through games, music, books, traditions, and everyday conversations if that is something your family would enjoy.

One of the reasons I want to become an au pair is because I believe cultural exchange is one of the most rewarding experiences a person can have.
