dear host family
My name is Kamila, I am 18 years old and I am from Colombia. I live with my parents and my pet. My mom's name is Milena, she is an environmental engineer, and my dad's name is Yair and he is a lawyer. I have a younger sister on my dad's side, her name is Gabriela and she is 16 years old. My pet's name is Zasha, she is a golden retriever and she is very affectionate.
I finished school in November 2021 and at the beginning of 2022 I heard about the opportunity to be an au pair so I thought it would be a good idea to apply for this new experience.
I decided to become an au pair because I like taking care of and being with children, as I think they are very sweet, intelligent and fun. I have been related to children most of my life as I have many little cousins that I have taken care of several times. Since the beginning of 2022 I started babysitting an 8 year old girl every afternoon, I helped her with homework, made her lunch and entertained her until the evening. Another reason why I am interested in being an au pair is because I want to improve my English for my university and for my life in general, also I would like to learn about new cultures and meet new people.
Some of my hobbies are reading books, listening to music, cooking, watching anime and exercising. I really like to learn and make cooking recipes, I find it very entertaining and I learn how to make new delicious meals. My favorite animal is the white tiger and my favorite color is blue although I prefer to dress in neutral tones like black, white, gray and brown. I like video games and arts and crafts. I prefer the cold to the heat even though I live in a hot city and my favorite food is sushi and pasta.
One of the things I would like to do when I go back to my country is to study veterinary medicine at the university, because I like animals very much and I am interested in helping them. although if I am honest, the reason why I decided to study this career was because of my dog Zasha, because I always want the best for her and I am concerned about her welfare.
