Dear future host family,
I am Valentina Rodriguez Moreno, I’m 22 years old. I’m from Bogota in Colombia. Let me tell you something about my land. I was born in Bogota. I grew up in this sunny and rainy, with a lot of culture, good people and in it the old and the modern are combined. It has beautiful places to visit and the food is delicious. I lived here with my parents, Liliana Moreno and Wilson Rodriguez, and my two sisters, the older one Sandy Rodriguez, and the middle Evelyn Rodriguez, until 2005. During that year, to date I live only with my mother and my sisters. I will tell you about my family, my dad is independent, I haven't shared much with him. My mom is a capital rentier, she is my happiness, she is a brave and strong woman. My older sister is a social worker, a patient woman with many values. Lastly, my middle sister is an environmental engineer, a woman with many aspirations and goals. In my family there is communication along with the values that my mother has taught us every day.
I have lived 15 years in the same neighborhood. It has given me the opportunity to meet many people in different places where I have been, such as in various neighborhoods, jobs, etc. Having the experience of meeting so many people has helped me to mature and grow as a person. I have to learn to be more tolerant, patient and responsable.
What can I tell you about myself? I am a person who perseveres, dreams, distributes his time for his work and projects, responsible, honest and loyal. In my daily routine, I’m organized, friendly and helpful. I enjoy having quality time with my family, friends, and boyfriend. I love my cat. In addition, I am a person who wants to do many things, I like to discover new things: people, places and cultures. I like to learn new languages.
I like traveling with my family. I believe that it's a good thing to share with my family. I enjoy dancing, mostly latin or trending music with my boyfriend. However, I usually listen to different musical styles.
As for my experience with children, it has been in a garden helping the people in charge of the children in various activities, with two girls who are the daughters of two people I have known for about 2 years, and with the youngest children of my age family.
My longest and closest experience was in the garden that I previously named, doing crafts and hobbies with the children, an example telling them a story with teaching, helping to prepare snacks or breakfasts, feeding the children, playing with the children and helping with their tasks, with children around 2 to 5 years old. Moreover, I taken care of a sweet 9 years girl, I used to pick up her from school and we spent afternoons together, playing at home,telling him his favorite stories, preparing snacks and waiting for his father. I needed to be creative so she would not get bored. And finally, I am working as an assistant in what I graduated 1 year ago, in Safety and Health at work, helping to implement the management system in a construction that is being carried out in one of the fire stations here in Bogota. Also, I would add that I have driven since last year when I got the license, reason why I could be a good option if I'd have to take them
somewhere.
The reason why I decided to do this is the pleasure of making an adventure in another country in a family atmosphere, which I really value. I
am really excited with this opportunity, I know that to live with new family, in a different country like USA, will increase my
personal background and I will learn a lot. Likewise, I´d love to become a part of your family. I am so excited with the opportunity to know you better and to be a member of your family. I hope you had fun reading my letter and knowing
