I am a 20 year old female who was born and raised in Ottawa, Ontario. All four of my grandparents immigrated from Italy; my Italian culture is something that I value deeply. I was raised by my mother and father alongside my two older sisters who guided me through life. My parents are now split up and it has given me the gift of having even more parental figures in my life as they both have new long-term partners. The chapter of my life in the city I was raised in, Ottawa, came to end when I decided to attend university at the University of British Columbia in September of 2023. This experience to live independently has allowed me to acquire an abundance of skills I would have otherwise overseen. I strongly believe that environment and surroundings are vital in a person's happiness and success. With this, I also built an amazing community and life for myself in Vancouver with an amazing group of people who I have surrounded myself with.

I would like to care for children because I enjoy and greatly value being able to help shape young minds. As I am studying psychology in university and hope to one day be a therapist for children, the opportunity to become an au pair and work with children would be perfect. My care for children goes beyond their joy and present well-being; I strive to empower children today so that they can become the best version of themselves tomorrow and all of the days following.

My biggest hobby is music. I have always loved to sing and have a newfound love for songwriting and playing the guitar. I think that music is one of the most beautiful ways for someone to express themselves, especially when you don't know how to. It is a way for your feelings to pass through your consciousness from your subconscious into art. Another interest of mine is exercise, specifically hot yoga. I find that yoga and meditation are exercises I didn't know I needed until I started doing them regularly. They are both so calming for the mind and allow me to begin my day with a clear view. Moreover, I love to read novels. To me, literature is so special because it allows us to immerse ourselves into an alternative reality shared to us by somebody else, incorporating yours and their perspectives into a story. I believe that reading is an experience and that no two people read the exact same story because interpretation is everything. Lastly, I love to write fiction. I think this interest stems from my yearning to create and share.
