Dear Host Family,
My name is Livia and I am a current second year Psychology student from Canada. I am excited about the opportunity to become an Au Pair because I love working with children and becoming part of a family in a meaningful and supportive way.
I value building meaningful connections and supporting children’s growth while learning about family life in a new country. I have worked as children’s swim lesson instructor with kids ages pre-school to grade 6, promoting their growth and comfort in the pool. As well, I have volunteered as a camp counsellor, where I supervised groups, organized activities, ensured saftey, and helped children feel included and supported. In my online volunteer work, I have been paired with students with dyslexia, meeting with them weekly, preparing lesson plans, and helping them to expand their reading comprehension in a creative way.
I would describe myself as patient, reliable and positive. I stay calm in busy situations and believe in setting kind but clear boundaries while making sure children feel heard. It is important to promote gentle guidance and consistency when children are upset, I take time to listen and help them to express their feelings.
