Dear Host Family,
My name is Gabriela Lopes, I'm 26 years old and I am a very positive and calm person, I like to live a peaceful and healthy life, in harmony wih the people around me. I am a very curious person and I learn very quickly, so much that I taught myself English and now I can use it in my work.
My favorite activities are being outdoors, studying and discovering new things, going to the gym and visiting new places. I also love games. I would love for you to welcome me into your home to take care of your children during the Au Pair Program. I have always been passionate about children and specialised in the positive education method for caring for the little ones. It is remarkable how enriching this method is for children because they grow up more independent and confident in themselves, becoming adults with many good qualities. I believe that encouraging their creative and sporting abilities changes a child's life. Awakening in them this interest in themselves, in what they can and are capable of doing and what skills to develop, brings endless development to their brains. Being around children makes me happy and being able to play a positive role in their growth and development is very rewarding for me. I want to not only be someone you can trust to take care of what is most important to you, but I also want to truly be a part of your family and learn your culture and customs. Being able to experience your country though the eyes of parents, who have the experience to show me things, and through the eyes of the children, which is always so pure, would be the perfect way to enjoy this program for me.
I also dream of getting to know the United States and its landscapes, as everything is so different from where I come from, and yet I hope to feel at home with your family. Improving my English by living with you and being part of your routine will be something that will change my personal and professionnal life at the end of the program forever.
