My dream was to speak English, so I learned by myself. It's not perfect, but I am determined.

My name is Riane (it's pronounced hee-uh-nee).
I’m 19 years old, and I live in Caruaru – Brazil with my mother and my nephew. My parents have been divorced since I was 16, so I have two homes. I always wanted to work so I could be independent, in my 17 I got my first job as intern at external sales. My current job is on HR administration. I work in HR in the morning, and nanny in the afternoon and evening. I really love animals since I was a kid and always wanted to be a Veterinary; I grew up with pets and have a rescue cat and a dog. I came from a very big family with a lot of kids, I have a lot of cousins. At school I used to play volleyball (I even won a medal) and I always had great grades. I want to do a cultural exchange before college so I can improve my English (and chances to get a scholarship). I chose the Au Pair program because my past experiences with kids were amazing. I have cared for 4 different kids, and each have taught me so much. The latest one was very interesting. A young couple from Germany came to Brazil with their baby girl (Louise), and I watched her for almost 2 months. I also like to travel so I want to know a lot of countries. At my free time I like to read books (I’m a book worm), play volleyball, beach tennis, spend time with my boyfriend, and go out with my friends. I hope to find a great family that has the same values as me and is interested in being part of my integration into the American culture.

Fun fact: I had top grades in my school, so I was selected for a program in partnership with the Brazilian army. For two years, I studied full time and had access to extra classes at the army base.
