Greetings from rainy Belgium! I'm Fernando, a dedicated and responsible individual excited about the prospect of caring for your children. As a research student in Neurobiology, I'll be calling Aarhus home for the next few months. Originally from Spain, I bring a wealth of cultural diversity to your household. At 26, I am energetic, enthusiastic, and eager to engage with your family. Fluent in English and Spanish, I am well-equipped to facilitate a language-learning experience for your children.
Pursuing my passion for understanding the intricacies of the brain, I am currently immersed in the world of Neurobiology through my research studies. I will be staying in Aarhus for a flexible internship, which means I have to perform certain experiments, but I’m not time-restrained, and I could arrive later or leave earlier, to adapt to the school schedule of your kids.
With a background in babysitting and teaching (2 years), I am drawn to the Au Pair experience as it aligns perfectly with my love for children, and I believe that certain approaches can make a big difference on them. For example, I like the kids I babysit to communicate openly and even try to negotiate for something they want, instead of throwing a tantrum or becoming temperamental. In addition, I’m extremely fun, and I build a comfortable environment with my children with a variety of activities such as playing games, DIYs, or going to nature.
Outside of my academic pursuits, I enjoy reading books and listening to podcasts, I love organizing outdoor adventures and I find solving puzzles fun. I also enjoy cooking a nice meal or dessert, so I’m ready to surprise you with my version of the Spanish tortilla or paella.
