I am a 17-year-old high school student from Australia, and I am hoping to become an Au Pair after I finish high school in December 2024. I've always had an interest in other countries and am amazed by different languages. I have plans to study at a University in Vienna, but before I do, I would like to take the opportunity to Au Pair and learn about different cultures, and maybe even find a country to call my new home.
I would describe myself as friendly, hardworking, responsible, and always open to trying new things. I have had several part-time jobs in the past, including working at an ice cream shop, a restaurant, and a grocery store. While I don't have specific nanny/babysitting experience, I did work at a primary school for a week as part of a school program, which included looking after a class of around 20 kids who were approximately 5-6 years old. If you have pets, that would be a lovely bonus! I have done pet sitting in the past and have a cat of my own, so I would love to look after your pets if needed. I plan on getting my driver's license later this year, so hopefully, I will be able to drive once I start as an Au Pair!
Although I live in Australia, I am of Austrian and Chinese ethnicity. I am fortunate to have Austrian citizenship, making it easy for me to Au Pair in any country within the EU. For a few years, I went to a German language school when I was a young child and I speak German regularly with my Oma, so I can understand nearly all spoken German, both Hochdeutsch and the Austrian dialect. I speak fluent English and have a basic understanding of German; I can understand spoken German very well, but I am not very good at writing or speaking. I would love the opportunity to either further improve my German or learn a new language!
