Hi, my name is Elijah. I am an 18 year old student looking to broaden my horizon. I plan on moving to Germany in July where for 3 months I will stay with family there. Then I hope to work as an Au pair in Cologne, helping wherever I am needed. The reason why I want to be an Au pair is because I love children, and am enthusiastic to take care of them whenever you need me to. Additionally, I want to learn about the German culture, what it is like to speak the language, and to live in a German household. I qualify for the position because I have had a lot of experience living with new people and taking care of children. All throughout my youth my parents welcomed many different people into our home. They lived among us and dined with us. From a young age, I got really comfortable living with new people of many different nationalities. When I got older and more involved in my church, I helped out with organizations such as Joni & Friends where myself and others would travel to different families who have children with special needs and we would spend time with the kids, siblings included, to give the parents a time to relax. From this, I learned how to care for other's needs with patience, love, and endurance, on top of my own. I am not afraid to take on the challenge of the Au Pair position and think it would be an amazing opportunity for me. I am outgoing and easily approachable. I love taking on new challenges and love a change of pace every now and then. I love music and have a great interest in understanding different cultures. After working as an Au Pair in Germany, I will have gotten my Hungarian citizenship via decent from my Hungarian grandmother allowing me to live in Germany and go to school in Cologne. I am interested in pursuing a Music Education degree with a possible minor in Ethnomusicology or Cultural Studies. I am very excited!
