Hello! My name is Shira, and I am from New Jersey, USA. I am a warm, bubbly, creative, and responsible childcare professional with 9 years of preschool experience, primarily working with 2–3-year-olds, although I have worked with and love children of all ages. I would love to be an au pair or nanny and join your family!
I have worked as an assistant preschool/nursery teacher for 9 years, primarily with children ages 2–3 years old as well as infants. I also run a weekly mommy-and-me group for over thirty parents and children at my synagogue.

Many people describe me as kind, attentive, protective, responsible, punctual, and very reliable. I bring high energy, warmth, and structure into the environments I work in. I genuinely believe my purpose in life is to make people laugh and feel safe, valued, and happy.
I am very talkative and creative. I love going outside and exploring. I enjoy hosting people for meals and parties. I love singing. I LOVE animals.

I have taken theater, acting, and improvisational-comedy classes since childhood and continue to do so. Acting has shaped who I am — it has taught me confidence, adaptability, and not worrying about looking silly. My favorite thing to do is be on stage entertaining people.
I love singing (I sing constantly!) and dancing. I would describe myself as a bookworm, which in the USA means someone who loves reading books. I adore musical theater, Disney, The Muppets, music, movies, and Broadway — that is probably what I will miss most from home (besides my family!).
I am always ready to draw or do an arts and crafts projects. I'm not afraid to get messy.
I also enjoy active activities like taking long walks, hikes, dancing, swimming and ice skating.

I am very comfortable and experienced with diapers/nappies, routines, meal times, and all aspects of daily childcare. I am trained in First Aid and CPR (including infants and children).
I also strongly believe in outdoor time for healthy development. I believe that children should play outside on a regular basis — even if it’s just for a few minutes on a cold day. I love incorporating songs. movement, art, and books throughout the day.

Important: I have severe, life-threatening allergies to peanuts and most tree nuts. I can safely be around them, but if I ingest them (or something containing them), I will have a serious reaction. I always carry epinephrine just in case, and am extremely careful and proactive about my safety. I simply ask for good handwashing practices after eating nuts and clear communication in the kitchen.
I am very responsible about managing my allergy and am happy to discuss this openly with any potential host family.
