Hello! I'm Mary Jo. I am finishing my second year of teaching elementary art and I LOVE it! I am looking for a change of pace and scenery for the summer. As a middle child of five, I have always been around children and love to be busy with fun. I enjoy making music, art, reading, and being outdoors. I graduated from VCUArts in Art Education and Painting and Printmaking in 2022. I love adventures so I am seeing what being an au pair might be like, but I have been a nanny and babysitter for most of my life on and off. I have experience teaching the Autism Day Program at my schools, and the youngest child I have ever cared for was 2 years old. While being a public elementary school teacher, I have also been a Montessori assistant instructor in the past and appreciate it's approach to child care- guided, encouraging, but spacious enough to maintain individually identified learning. I have been CPR and first aid certified, and I love to bake and cook. I am a loving, patient mentor to my students and will always include humor in my time with my students. I love to provide fun activities, have a huge imagination, and be silly.
