Introduction

Hi, my name is Alayna and I am looking to be an au pair in another country. I am 17 years old and halfway through my senior year right now. I am looking for a family I can be with the fall semester of next year (2024), around august. I come from a bigger family, I am the youngest of four girls. Growing up our house was always full- full of laughter, full of friends, and full of love. It was loud and chaotic but it was home, and it was perfect. Things are more quiet with just me and our two puppies left at home. Ever since I was little I have been surrounded by other kids, and I never grew out of loving it. I went to an In-Home daycare from 6 months old until she started paying me to stick around to help out with the other kids. That was my first ever ´job´ when I was 12. I would ALWAYS beg my older sisters to take me with them on any babysitting gigs they had when I was too young to babysit on my own. I have always leaned toward younger children to play with and interact with versus adults- never in a creepy way of course- children have always been more approachable to me.I have been a lifeguard for three years, I started as soon as I legally could- I took the training course over the week of my 15th birthday. I worked at a waterpark in town the summer before my sophmore year as a guard and swim instructor. I learned a lot about myself, my job, and what I wanted within a job. The next summer I worked as a full-time nanny from 6:30 in the morning to 3:30 or four in the afternoon, while also working at the Mankato Goft club as a lifeguard, and part-time nannying for another family of five weekly. Throughout my sophomore school year, I worked as a gymnastics coach (without being a gymnast), and just kind of winged it. I tried to stick to the littles because I knew that I could help grow and learn most efficiently. Going into my junior school year I got a job at a rec center being a private and group swim instructor/lifeguard. I still work there now, mostly doing private swim lessons with kiddos. I make my lesson plans and am working on setting up a better system for teaching swimming lessons to their guards when I'm going. I love teaching private lessons because working one-on-one with the kids I can watch them grow and thrive on a closer level. This past summer I worked as a full-time nanny from 7-2 for two of the sweetest little boys I know. I don't want to leave for a job until after next summer so I can spend another summer with them. Spending every day with kids, guiding them throughout different aspects of life- it's hard for them not to turn into your best friends. I have a strong love for children, caretaking, and teaching. I really love to work as a team with parents and make it known I am never there to take their place. I'm just there to help strengthen the growth of your children, build a connection, and make core memories, I am not and won't ever be a replacement for mom and dad. I have found communicating that and being open with kids in general, they grow to be more trusting and communicative teenagers. Lately, I have been working through my senior year- mostly participating in college-level courses. This semester I took a ceramics class and I loved it, if given the opportunity I would LOVE to work with children and ceramics. I think the wheel and clay would help with SO many aspects of mental, cognitive, and hand-eye coordination growth within children. I have completed Child Development One & two, Foods One, Global Foods, COL.KSP 150 ( teahcer cadet), COL.Bio 100, both high school level ceramics classes, and this semester I will have completed COL. KSP 235 ( Human Development ), COL. Ceramics 250, and COL. Psychology 100. I have a full course load of PSEO (college) classes for next semester and plan to continue my education further after high school. In KSP 150, I learned a lot of the basics of teaching and how children learn- I also got to student teach in a preschool classroom for a month. That was such a good experience and I made so many memories. I hope to find a family that will support my drive for academics and work with an online school schedule. I would never have school all day, the maximum would be 2 classes in a day. I plan to attend Winona State university or Mankato State University digitally while caretaking. I don't exactly know what I want to go into college for, but I have had the idea of going into business management and opening up a preschool. There are so many other aspects I would want to incorporate in a preschool that aren't in most today. I have a growing love for teaching kids how to learn and watching them grow. I am a Lifeguard, CPR, First aid, and stop the blood certified. I'm looking for a welcoming, loving family that wants to work together, to help their kids learn and grow. reach out if you have any questions/comments/inquiries.
Thank you for taking the time to get to know me and my goal of becoming an Au Pair :)
