Hello! My name is Valeria, and I’m a 19-year-old university student from California, USA, studying Environmental Studies at UC Santa Cruz.
I’m looking for an au pair opportunity this summer because I love working with children, I enjoy experiencing new cultures, and I’m excited about the chance to live abroad and become part of a family’s daily life. I would describe myself as responsible, caring, and easy to adapt to new environments. I also really value open communication and creating a positive, supportive atmosphere for both children and parents.
I have experience caring for children through babysitting/nannying, where I helped supervise children, prepared meals and snacks, engaged them in play and activities, and made sure they were safe and comfortable. I also have experience working in customer service as a server, which has helped me become patient, organized, and good at handling responsibility in fast-paced environments. In addition, I have experience with pet care and helping around the home.
I would be happy to help with daily routines such as school drop-offs and pick-ups, preparing meals, playing with the children, helping with homework, and keeping their environment tidy. I enjoy being active and outdoors, so I would love to do fun activities with the kids like going to parks, beaches, or creative activities at home.
In my free time, I love being outside, hiking, and learning about new cultures. I am especially excited about the opportunity to improve my language skills, experience everyday life in a different country, and become part of a welcoming host family.
I am looking for a respectful and friendly family where I can support the children’s daily life while also learning from the cultural exchange experience. I am flexible with dates starting in summer 2026 and open to different locations, especially near the coast or in vibrant cities.
