My name is Sofia, I’m 22 years old. I’ve had the opportunity to travel a lot and experience different cultures, which has shaped the way I see the world and made me very curious about people and new places.
I studied Art and Culture in the Netherlands, and I have always been passionate about creativity and exploring different forms of art. I’m particularly interested in cinema, visual arts, and photography.
Having lived in several countries, I feel especially connected to France, as I lived in Paris for a year and a half. Even while living in Kyiv, I started learning French and developed a strong interest in French culture, art, and history.
I enjoy discovering new places, meeting people from different backgrounds, and finding inspiration in everyday life. I would describe myself as a curious person who loves learning, experiencing new things, and being surrounded by culture.
When I was a teenager, I started working as a babysitter for the editor-in-chief of a magazine. Her daughter was four months old, and I spent a lot of time taking care of her while her mother was working at photo shoots or in the office. I would take her for walks, feed her, and look after her throughout the day.
After I gained the family’s trust, they also asked me to look after their second child, who was four years old at the time. I would pick him up from school, take him to his activities, and spend time with him in parks and outdoors. This experience taught me a lot about how different children can be and how important it is to be attentive to their individual needs.
Later, I started giving private lessons to children in English and drawing. I enjoyed combining language learning with creativity and making the lessons fun and engaging for them.
I genuinely love spending time with children, and I find it easy to build a warm and trusting connection with them. I believe children can teach us just as much as we teach them, and I really enjoy seeing the world through their eyes.
Becoming an Au Pair feels like a natural continuation of the experiences I have already had. I have always learned through people, places, languages, and culture, and I would love to experience another country not just as a visitor, but as a part of everyday family life. France feels especially meaningful to me because I have already lived in Paris and have been learning French and exploring French culture for several years. I would love to bring my own experience, creativity, and love for art into a family’s everyday life, while creating a genuine connection with the children and learning from them as well. For me, being an Au Pair is about much more than living abroad,it is about becoming part of a family, sharing experiences, and growing together.
