I hope this letter finds you and your precious children in good health and happiness. My name is Phionah, I am 24 years old, and I am writing to you with a lot of love and hope from Kampala, the green capital city of Uganda, the Pearl of Africa.

Thank you for taking time to read my letter and to look at my profile. I know choosing an Au Pair is a very big and personal decision, because you are choosing someone to love and care for your most precious treasure your children. I do not take this lightly. I am writing to you not just as a job seeker, but as a big sister who is ready to give your family my heart, my time, my respect and my full attention.

ABOUT ME AND MY FAMILY

I was born and raised in a loving, Christian, close family in Kampala. I am the second born of three children, so from a very young age I learned what it means to be a big sister to share, to be patient, to help, to protect and to love. My mother taught me that a clean home is a happy home, that respect is more important than money, and that children must be raised with patience and kindness. My father taught me honesty and hard work. These values are now who I am.

MY EXPERIENCE WITH CHILDREN WHAT I DO EVERY DAY

For the last two years, I have been working as a live-in nanny and tutor for a lovely family here in Kampala with one child. This experience taught me how to give 100% focused love to one child, which is why I specialize in caring for one child or two children maximum. I understand that every child is unique and needs personal attention.

These are the duties I do every day with love and care, and what I would love to do for your family as well:

Every morning, I help get the children ready for school and activities. This means gently waking them up, helping with bathing and brushing teeth, choosing clean and neat clothes, combing hair, and making sure their school bags are packed with books, water and snacks. I make the morning calm, not rushed, with a smile and a little song so they start the day happy.

I do school drop offs and pick ups when required. I understand this is a big responsibility. I am very careful about road safety, holding hands, seatbelts, and never leaving a child alone. I am always punctual, so you never have to worry.

During the day, I love playing with the children and keeping them engaged in fun activities. I do not like children watching TV all day. I like creative play drawing, coloring, building blocks, outdoor games, hide and seek, dancing, singing, reading stories, and educational games that help them learn while playing. I always get down to their level, on the floor with them, so they feel I am their friend and big sister.

In the afternoon, I assist with homework and reading. I am very patient. I will sit with your child, explain slowly, repeat without getting angry, and celebrate when they understand. I am also a good English tutor I help children improve their reading, spelling and speaking with phonics and storybooks.

I prepare simple, healthy meals and snacks for the children. I can cook children's favorites pasta, rice, chicken, porridge, fruits, sandwiches, and I can also learn your family recipes. I always make sure the kitchen is clean after, and I teach children to wash their hands before eating. I am very careful about allergies and hygiene.

Finally, I help keep children's bedrooms and play areas tidy and organized. I teach children to pick up their toys after playing, to put clothes in the basket, to make their bed in a fun way. I keep their space clean, safe and beautiful, so you come home to a neat house.

WHY I WANT TO BE AN AU PAIR

I want to be an Au Pair because I truly love children and I want to be part of a loving family and experience a new culture. I want to learn your language, your cooking, your way of life, and I also want to share my Ugandan culture with your children I can teach them songs, stories and to cook matoke! I am not coming just for money l am coming to be a big sister, to help a busy mother, and to grow as a person.
