Introduction
Dear Family, I recently graduated with a degree in Psychology, majoring in Clinical Psychology. During my internship, I worked in psychological consultancy services, and every Saturday we ran mobile outreach where we handled walk-in cases for children with neurodevelopmental conditions. That experience really taught me how to be patient and present with kids who need a bit more understanding and care.
But honestly, my love for taking care of children didn't start there, it's just part of who I am. I'm Filipino, and in our culture, family and closeness are everything. I grew up around my cousins, nephews, and nieces, and being the eldest, I was often the one looking after them,cooking for them, watching over them etc. It wasn't something I saw as a chore; I genuinely enjoyed it, and it's where I first learned what it means to care for someone else's wellbeing.
So when I think about becoming part of a host family, it doesn't feel like starting from zero. I already have both the academic understanding of how children grow and think, and the real, everyday experience of raising and being there for kids I love. I bring patience, warmth, and a real sense of responsibility to it, not just skills I studied, but a part of how I was raised.
I'd would love to have a chance to be part of your family and take care of your children the way I've always taken care of my own. I hope I get the opportunity to meet you and show you what I can bring.Hoping to hear from you my future host family.
