Introduction
I’m Michael, 30 from Nigeria. The last born in my family. Being the last born sounds like I should be the one everyone takes care of right? Well… not exactly. Whenever everyone was busy being the "adult " I somehow became the adult at home. Cooking, cleaning, keeping things organised and generally helping to keep the house running became normal for me. So yes I can take care of a home. I’ve had years of training.
I’ve also spent years working in healthcare and that experience really shaped me. It taught me patience, responsibility, how to listen and importantly how to care for people with different needs. Working with people with disabilities and different challenges taught me to stay calm, understanding and helpful When things don’t go as planned.
I’m going, enjoy good conversations learning new things and keeping busy. I’m comfortable helping around the house cooking meals, cleaning, doing laundry, shopping and handling the everyday things that keep a home moving.
I’m interested, in becoming a pair because I’d love to experience family life in another country learn about a new culture and be someone my host family can genuinely rely on. I’m not expecting everything to be perfect. I’m simply coming as myself: caring, responsible, willing to learn and ready to be part of the family.
