My name is Mkpoikana, and I’m from Nigeria. I’m a caring, patient and responsible person with a background in Health Education and community health. Through my work and experiences, I’ve had the opportunity to interact with children, families and different communities, and I’ve learned that caring for someone requires more than just being responsible, it requires patience, understanding and genuine attention.
I’m interested in becoming an au pair because I would love to experience family life in another country, learn about a new culture and, most importantly, become a positive and dependable part of a family’s everyday life. I enjoy spending time with children, helping them learn, keeping them engaged in simple activities, and creating an environment where they feel comfortable and cared for.
I’m also someone who understands the importance of routines. I’m comfortable helping with school-related activities, preparing simple meals, keeping children’s spaces organised, accompanying them to activities and supporting parents with reasonable everyday childcare responsibilities.
My background in health education has also made me very conscious of hygiene, safety and healthy habits, especially when caring for children. I’m attentive to details and I take responsibilities given to me seriously.
Beyond childcare, I’m friendly, adaptable and open-minded. I would be happy to share my Nigerian culture, food and traditions with your family while learning about your way of life as well. I’m not looking at the au pair experience simply as an opportunity to travel; I genuinely want to build a respectful relationship with my host family and be someone you can trust.
