Introduction
My name is Linet Wandia, 22 years old, and I am a kenyan nationality currently in Lebanon. Thank you for taking the time to read my letter and consider my profile. I am excited about the opportunity to introduce myself and hopefully become part of a welcoming family as an au pair.
My experience with children started at a young age, as I am the firstborn in a family of three children. Growing up, I naturally became involved in caring for my two younger siblings, which helped me develop patience, responsibility, understanding and a genuine love for children. I have also gained professional childcare experience in Lebanon, where I care for a seven-year-old girl. Living and working in another country has taught me to be adaptable, independent and comfortable in new environments.
I consider myself a patient, caring, responsible, organised and attentive person. I understand that every child has an individual personality, interests and needs, and I enjoy finding different ways to make them feel comfortable, supported and encouraged. I can also assist children with their homework, particularly in subjects and languages I understand, such as English.
I enjoy making children's days meaningful through creative and enjoyable activities. Some of my favourite activities include decorating, painting, arts and crafts, playing educational games, reading novels and exploring new skills together.I also enjoy hairstyling and braiding simple, beautiful hairstyles for the girls.I believe every day should bring something positive that children can learn, experience or look forward to sharing. I also value maintaining a clean, safe and organised environment. I pay attention to children's hygiene, their belongings and the cleanliness of their toys and play areas, including regular cleaning and organisation.
Outside childcare, I am a very outgoing person who enjoys meeting new people, experiencing different cultures and learning something new every day. I love going to the gym, cycling, swimming (which I am currently learning to improve), drawing and painting. I also enjoy listening to music, watching movies and series, travelling, learning new languages and experimenting with new cooking recipes. I speak English and Swahili and have basic Arabic communication skills. Learning another language is always something I look forward to.
I am also interested in healthy living, personal development and maintaining good hygiene and organisation in my surroundings. I enjoy studying, discovering new things and developing practical skills that help me grow personally and professionally.
What excites me most about becoming an au pair is the opportunity to experience family life in another culture, build meaningful relationships and share my own Kenyan culture with a host family. I look forward to learning from the family just as much as I hope to contribute to their daily lives. I would love to become someone the children feel comfortable around, someone they can learn with, laugh with and trust.
I believe being an au pair is more than simply providing childcare. It is about cultural exchange, mutual understanding, responsibility and creating beautiful memories together.
Thank you once again for taking the time to learn about me. I would be delighted to get to know your family, learn more about your children and hopefully become a positive and dependable part of your family.
Warm regards,
Linet Wandia
