Introduction
I am a 29-year-old Kenyan woman from Nairobi, and I would love the opportunity to become an au pair or childcare provider for a kind and welcoming family.
I am a caring, patient, responsible and intentional person who genuinely enjoys being around children. I have experience caring for and working with children from infancy through the teenage years (0–16). I have also worked with children with special needs through my experience with a nonprofit organization.
Over the years, I have cared for younger siblings and cousins, taught children in Sunday school, tutored children, and supported children through my work in the nonprofit sector. These experiences have taught me to be patient, attentive and understanding of each child's individual personality and needs.
I enjoy creating a safe and positive environment where children can learn, play and feel loved. I am happy to help with homework, reading, creative activities, outdoor play and age-appropriate routines.
I can prepare most everyday meals and I am always willing to learn new recipes and adapt to my host family's preferences. I am also comfortable helping with children's laundry, tidying their rooms, preparing meals and other reasonable household tasks.
I speak English and Swahili, and I am interested in learning another language and experiencing a new culture. I enjoy walking, swimming, hiking, reading and listening to music.
I am looking for a family that is kind, respectful, open-minded and willing to welcome me as part of the family. In return, I will bring reliability, warmth, respect, flexibility and genuine care for your children.
I see this experience as more than an opportunity to travel. I would love to build a meaningful relationship with my host family, learn from your culture and share some of my Kenyan culture with you and your children.
I am available for a one-year placement and would be happy to discuss your family's needs, expectations and daily routine.
