Dear Family,

My name is Sara, I am 18 years old and I am from Italy. I am a friendly, responsible, patient and caring person who genuinely enjoys spending time with children. I love creating a positive and fun environment where children can feel comfortable, safe and happy.

I have experience caring for children of different ages. I have looked after my younger brother for several years, which taught me to be patient, responsible and attentive to children’s needs. I also volunteered as a summer camp animator from 2022 to 2025, working with children aged 3–10. During the summer camps, I helped organise games, creative activities, workshops and outdoor activities, while supervising and supporting the children throughout the day.

Last year, I had the opportunity to live in Ireland with a host family and look after my 5-year-old Irish host sister. This was a very special experience for me and made me even more interested in becoming an au pair again. I really enjoyed playing with her, reading stories, doing crafts, going outside and simply spending time together. Living with an Irish family also allowed me to experience Irish culture and everyday family life while improving my English and becoming more independent.

I speak Italian, English, French and Spanish, and I have always loved languages and discovering different cultures. My future goal is to study Languages at university in Ireland and eventually become a teacher. Becoming an au pair is therefore very important to me because it would allow me to continue improving my English, gain valuable childcare experience and prepare myself for university and my future career.

As an au pair, I would be happy to help with the children’s daily routines, playing with them, preparing simple meals, helping with homework, reading, organising activities and keeping their rooms or play areas tidy. I particularly enjoy creative activities, games, reading and spending time outdoors, but I am also happy to adapt activities to each child’s interests and personality.

I am also keen to share my Italian culture, language and traditions with your family and, at the same time, learn more about your culture and way of life. For me, being an au pair is much more than simply looking after children. I would love to become a trusted and caring member of the family and build a genuine relationship with both the children and the parents.
