Dear Future Host Family,

Hello! My name is Tiwi, I'm 24 years old and from Indonesia. I'm currently looking forward to becoming an au pair in 2027 and hopefully meeting a family who will be part of a special chapter in my life.

A little about me
I have an educational background in Public Health, which has shaped my interest in people's well-being and the importance of caring for one another. I would describe myself as a caring, patient, responsible, and open-minded person.
I enjoy reading books, swimming, exploring new places, and discovering different cultures. I'm also someone who appreciates simple things, like sharing stories, having good conversations, and spending quality time with people I care about.
I'm naturally curious about the world around me. I love learning about other cultures and the differences that make us all so unique. I find it fascinating how people from different backgrounds have their own traditions, perspectives, and ways of life, and I believe there's always something valuable we can learn from one another.

My experiences with children
My experiences have come from different parts of my life... from helping care for children in my family and looking after neighbors' children to participating in volunteering and university community activities.
I've had the opportunity to spend time with children of different ages, from babies and toddlers to school-aged children and teenagers. Along the way, I've helped with everyday routines such as feeding, changing diapers, preparing meals, bathing, school drop-offs and pick-ups, and spending time together through play, reading, and other activities.
I enjoy getting to know each child's personality and discovering the little things that make them unique. Sometimes it's listening to their stories, reading their favorite books together, or simply sharing a laugh during an ordinary day. I think these everyday moments are what make spending time with children so special.
Although I haven't been an au pair abroad before, these experiences have given me the opportunity to learn more about children, understand their different needs, and appreciate the joy of being part of their everyday lives.

Why I want to become an au pair?
For me, becoming an au pair is an opportunity to experience a different culture in a way that travelling alone cannot quite offer. I'm excited about the idea of living with a host family, learning about their everyday routines and traditions, sharing meals, celebrating special occasions, and discovering what life is like from their perspective.
I also hope to improve my language skills, become more independent, and gain a better understanding of the world through real-life experiences and meaningful connections.

I'm an Indonesian passport holder, and I'd love to bring a little piece of my home country into my host family's life. I would be happy to share our food, traditions, and stories while also learning about yours.

What I hope our experience will be like?
I don't expect a family to be perfect, and I don't think a cultural exchange needs to be extraordinary every day. I believe the best experiences can come from ordinary moments: having breakfast together, helping children with their daily routines, reading stories, going for walks, or simply talking about how everyone's day went.
I hope to meet a family where we can communicate openly, respect each other's differences, and feel comfortable being ourselves. I'd love to become a caring and supportive older-sister figure to your children and someone who genuinely enjoys being part of your family's everyday life.

A little about my future dreams
After my au pair experience, I hope to continue my journey in Public Health, particularly in child health and nutrition. I'd love to explore opportunities through NGOs, volunteering, and community-based health programmes.
In the long run, I aspire to build an international career where I can contribute to improving children's health and well-being. I believe the experiences, friendships, and cultural understanding I gain as an au pair will become valuable parts of that journey.
