Dear Future Host Family,
My name is Julienne Muffie Sarmiento, I am 24 years old and I am from Bulacan, Philippines. I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Internal Audit from City College of San Jose del Monte in July 2025. After graduation, I worked as an auditor. However, I decided to resign from my job last December to help my cousin take care of her child while her husband is working in Ireland.
Taking care of my cousin's child was one of the experiences that made me interested in becoming an Au Pair. It gave me the chance to spend more time with a child and help with her daily needs, and I realized that I enjoy being around children and being part of their daily lives. It also made me interested in the idea of living with a host family, experiencing a different culture, and learning from people from another country.
I also have experience taking care of my younger cousin. My aunt and her daughter have been living with us since my cousin was born, so I have been around her and helped take care of her as she grew up. Because of these experiences, I have learned to be patient, responsible, caring, and attentive when looking after a child.
I believe I can be a good Au Pair because I am willing to learn and adjust to a new environment. My previous work as an auditor also taught me to be organized, responsible, and careful with my work. I understand that being an Au Pair is not simply about traveling to another country. It also means being responsible for helping the host family, following their routines, and treating their home and children with respect.
I would be happy to share my Filipino culture and learn about your family's culture and traditions as well. I hope to build a good relationship with my future host family where we can communicate openly, respect each other, and feel comfortable together.
I am looking forward to this opportunity because I believe becoming an Au Pair will allow me to grow personally, gain more experience with children, and experience life in a new environment.
