My name is Ashley. I’m 26 years old, and I’m from the beautiful Philippines.
I’m the second of five daughters and the third among twenty-two grandchildren on my mother’s side, so growing up in a big Filipino family taught me early on how to care for others, share responsibilities, and find joy in the little moments we spend together.
I graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Secondary Education, major in English, and I’m also a Licensed Professional Teacher. Although I’m qualified to teach from early years to secondary school, I discovered that my heart truly belongs with young children. I’ve worked as an Early Childhood Development Teacher and a Grade 1 Partner Teacher in a multicultural school, and before that, I volunteered as a Grade 7 and Grade 11 teacher for three years.
My childcare experience also includes caring for infants. When my sister became a mother, I happily stepped in to help raise my niece, and I’ve been part of her everyday life from birth until now that she’s one year old. So yes—I’m comfortable with infants, toddlers, and teenagers!
Outside the classroom, I’m a creative soul. I love reading books, writing poetry, making arts and crafts, playing the flute, and singing. I enjoy creating fun, hands-on activities that help children learn while having fun. I also love the outdoors—whether it’s hiking on my birthday, jogging, riding my motorcycle or bicycle, or swimming. I grew up just a short walk from the beach, so nature has always been a big part of my life.
As an educator, I’d be happy to support your children’s learning by creating routines, helping with homework, or designing an academic schedule that fits their needs while keeping learning enjoyable and encouraging.
And of course, coming from a Filipino household means I’m very comfortable with everyday home responsibilities. I can clean, do the laundry and dishes, organize the house, and cook—I’ll just need a little guidance to learn your family’s favorite meals!
