Dear Host Family,
My name is Sheena, I am 23 years old, and I come from the Philippines. I am very excited about the opportunity to become an au pair in Europe, experience a new culture, and hopefully become a meaningful part of a host family’s everyday life.

I would describe myself as caring, responsible, patient, hardworking, and willing to learn. I am also adaptable and easy to get along with, and I always try to be helpful wherever I can. One of my strengths is that I am naturally caring and attentive, especially when it comes to children. I believe I am also patient and responsible, which are important qualities when taking care of children. As for my weaknesses, sometimes I can be a little shy when I first meet new people, but I become more comfortable and open once I get to know them. I am also sometimes too hard on myself because I always want to do things well, but I am learning to be more confident and trust myself.

I would be happy to care for children from 0 to 15 years old. I am open to different ages and would enjoy learning about each child’s personality, interests, and needs. I have experience caring for children through tutoring a grade-school student and, most importantly, through taking care of my younger brother. I helped care for my younger brother from the time he was 1 year old until he was 12. Our mother sadly passed away only one month after giving birth to him, so I had an important role in helping care for him as he grew up. This experience taught me a lot about patience, responsibility, love, and understanding a child’s needs.

I studied Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), although I did not complete my degree. Through my studies, I gained knowledge about health, care, and responsibility, which I believe can also be helpful when caring for children.

I am looking for an au pair stay of at least one year and up to two years. I would really like to have enough time to build a strong relationship with my host family, become comfortable with the culture and language, and truly experience everyday life in Europe.

When I imagine life with my host family, I hope for a warm, respectful, and friendly relationship. I would love to be included in family activities, meals, celebrations, and everyday moments. At the same time, I also understand the importance of having personal time and independence. I would therefore be happy with a balance between being fully involved with the family and spending some of my free time independently.

I am prepared to help with basic household chores and babysitting/childcare. I am happy to help keep the children’s areas tidy, prepare simple things for them, clean up after activities or meals, and assist with everyday tasks related to the children. I understand that being an au pair is about being part of a family and helping each other, so I am willing to contribute and help where needed.

I do not have any special dietary requirements, allergies, or restrictions.

One of my main reasons for becoming an au pair is to experience European culture and everyday family life, learn more about the local language and traditions, and at the same time share my own Filipino culture with my host family. I would love to introduce you to Filipino traditions, food, and the warm and family-oriented values that are important to me.

I already have my passport ready and have prepared the necessary documents, so I am motivated and ready to begin the process. I am genuinely looking forward to finding the right host family and building a relationship based on trust, respect, communication, and understanding.
