Dear Future Host Family,

Hello lovely host family! My name is Rix, I’m 21 years old, and I’m from the Philippines. I’m very excited to introduce myself and tell you more about who I am, my experiences, and why I would love the opportunity to become an Au Pair and be part of your family.

I would describe myself as a caring, patient, responsible, cheerful, hardworking, and trustworthy person. I enjoy helping others and spending time with children. I believe that caring for someone is not only about making sure they are safe and comfortable, but also about giving them attention, understanding, encouragement, and genuine care.

I have valuable experience in caregiving and childcare. For one year, I worked as a caregiver for two elderly people who were 98 and 96 years old. This experience taught me a lot about patience, responsibility, attentiveness, and understanding the needs of others. After that, I had another caregiving experience where I took care of a 76-year-old person while also caring for a newborn baby for one year. Taking care of a newborn gave me experience with the patience, attention, and responsibility needed when caring for a very young child.

Aside from my work experience, I also have experience taking care of my two younger siblings. Being responsible for them has taught me how to be patient, understanding, and attentive to children's needs. I have learned that children have different personalities and that sometimes they need someone who will listen to them, guide them, and make them feel safe and comfortable.

I also regularly participate in Child Evangelism and Sunday School for kids every Sunday. I enjoy spending time with children, helping with activities, teaching them, and making sure they feel included and comfortable. Through this experience, I have become more comfortable interacting with children of different personalities and ages. I enjoy seeing them learn new things, express themselves, and have fun.

What I believe is special about me is my willingness to take responsibility and my genuine desire to care for others. My experiences with elderly people, a newborn, my siblings, and children in Sunday School have taught me to be patient, observant, and dependable. I understand that caring for children requires consistency, kindness, and attention, and I am willing to put in the effort to make them feel loved, safe, and supported.

As an Au Pair, I would be happy to help with your children's daily routines, prepare simple activities, play with them, assist with homework or learning activities, and help with child-related household tasks. I am also willing to follow your family's routines and parenting style. I understand that every family is different, so I am open to learning your expectations and receiving guidance and feedback.

I also want to experience being part of a different culture. I would love to learn about your traditions, language, food, and everyday life while sharing my own Filipino culture with you. I hope that our relationship will be more than simply an Au Pair and host family arrangement. I would love to become someone you can trust and rely on and, hopefully, feel like a part of your family.

I know that moving to another country and living with a new family will be a big experience for me, but I am excited about the opportunity. I am willing to learn, adapt, communicate openly, and step outside my comfort zone. I believe that respect and good communication are important in building a happy relationship between an Au Pair and a host family.
