Introduction
Let me tell you a bit about myself. I grew up in a close family in a small city where everyone knows everyone. Family is a big deal for us. Sunday lunches, helping at home, looking after younger cousins when the adults were busy – that was normal life for me, and honestly, it's where I first learned to be patient and responsible with kids.
By profession, I'm an IT graduate, but for the past few years most of my work has actually been with children and students. I worked as an ACE Coding Facilitator with PPH Digital Media, where I was assigned to different schools to teach coding to kids. I spent my days in classrooms full of curious, noisy, wonderful children – some as young as elementary age – helping them build their first little games and projects. What I loved most wasn't the coding itself, but watching a shy kid suddenly light up when something finally worked. I learned how to explain things simply, how to stay calm when ten hands are raised at once, and how to make learning feel like play.
Before that, I taught as a faculty member at the University of the Cordilleras in Baguio City. Older students, yes, but the same lessons applied: listen first, be kind but firm, and show up prepared every day.
I want to be honest about why I want to be an au pair. It's not just about travel. I truly enjoy being around kids, and I've always been curious about how families live in other parts of the world. I want to experience daily life with a real family – school runs, homework at the kitchen table, weekend outings, the ordinary moments. In return, I'll give your children my full attention, care, and consistency. I'm the kind of person who remembers that your little one doesn't like crust on their sandwich, or that the older one needs a quiet ten minutes after school before doing homework.
Some practical things about me: I'm organized and reliable – I don't miss schedules and I keep parents updated. I'm comfortable helping with homework, especially math, science, and computers. I can make simple, healthy meals, and I don't mind tidying up, doing laundry, or keeping the kids' spaces in order. I'm tech-savvy, so I can also set up safe screen-time limits, help with online school stuff, or fix the Wi-Fi when it acts up. I'm a non-smoker, I don't drink, and I take my health seriously.
Outside of work, I like drawing and design (I recently finished TESDA courses in visual graphic design and UI/UX), I enjoy walking and exploring new places, and I've started learning Japanese for fun. I'm easygoing, I like to laugh, and I get along with people of all ages.
I know that welcoming someone into your home is a big decision. I don't take that lightly. I'll respect your house rules, your routines, and your privacy. I'll treat your home as my home and your children as if they were my own family. And if there's ever something I don't understand or agree with, I'll talk to you openly and respectfully – I believe good communication solves almost everything.
Thank you so much for considering me. I'd love to have a video call so you can get to know me better and I can meet your children. I'm excited about the possibility of becoming part of your family's everyday life.
Warm regards,
EzraJohn
