Dear Future Host Family,
Hello! My name is Mariel, I am 24 years old, and I am from the Philippines, where I am currently living. I am very happy and grateful for the opportunity to introduce myself to you and hopefully become part of your family as your au pair.
I am a warm, caring, patient, and responsible person. One of the things I love most is taking care of children. I have experience caring for my niece since she was a baby until she turned three years old. Through that experience, I learned how to be patient with a child, understand their needs, keep them safe, play with them, and give them the love and attention they need.
I know that taking care of an infant or toddler requires patience, responsibility, and a lot of love, and I am willing to give my best every day. I would be happy to help with their daily routines, meals, playtime, and other activities that help them learn and grow.
I also enjoy cooking and baking. I graduated from culinary school, so I would be happy to prepare meals and bake something special for your family. I believe that food is one of the simple and beautiful ways to make people feel loved and cared for.
I also know how to drive, and my driver’s license is expected to be available by October. I am looking forward to becoming more confident and responsible with driving and being able to help my future host family whenever needed.
I also had the opportunity to work in Japan as a farm worker for one year. Living and working abroad taught me how to adapt to a new environment, work hard, become independent, and respect different cultures and ways of life. That experience also made me more excited to meet people from different backgrounds and learn from them.
As an au pair, I don’t only want to be someone who takes care of your children. I hope to become someone your family can trust, feel comfortable with, and eventually consider part of the family. I would love to share my Filipino culture, my experiences, my cooking, and my love for children with you. At the same time, I am excited to learn about your culture, traditions, language, and everyday life.
I understand that being welcomed into your home is a big responsibility. I will respect your family’s rules, privacy, traditions, and lifestyle. I will always do my best to communicate openly, listen, and learn whenever I need guidance.
I would love to create beautiful memories with your children—whether it is playing together, preparing meals, going for walks, helping them learn, reading stories, or simply being there for them when they need someone.
