Dear Future Host Family,

My name is Janicka Miles, but you can call me Miles, and I am from the Philippines. I would describe myself as a warm, responsible, open-minded, and adaptable person who enjoys learning, meeting new people, and experiencing new things. I was a former educator in my field, an experience that taught me to be patient, understanding, responsible, and comfortable around children and different personalities.

I would really love to become an Au Pair because I see it as an opportunity to experience life in another country in a more meaningful way. I want to learn about your culture, traditions, language, and everyday way of life—not simply as a tourist, but as someone who becomes part of a family. I want to gain new experiences, step outside my comfort zone, and create memories that I will always look back on with gratitude.

One of the things I enjoy most is being around children. I have a nephew whom I love very much, and spending time with him has shown me how special it is to be part of a child's life. I enjoy playing with children, talking to them, helping them learn, and simply being there to share their little moments. My background as an educator has also helped me develop patience, communication skills, responsibility, and an understanding of how important it is to make children feel safe, heard, and cared for.

I also love pets, so I would be very happy to have them as part of my everyday life with my host family. I love adventure and discovering new places, but I also appreciate simple moments—sharing a meal, having conversations, spending time together, or being included in family activities. I would be happy to share a little of my Filipino culture and, at the same time, learn from your family and your way of life.

I believe I could be a good Au Pair for your family because I can adapt quickly to new situations. I understand that every family has its own routines, values, and way of doing things, and I am willing to listen, learn, and respect them. I am also willing to help wherever I can and take my responsibilities seriously. Since this would be my first experience as an Au Pair, I know there will be many new things for me to learn, but I am excited about that. I am not expecting everything to be perfect from the beginning. I simply hope to have a family who is willing to guide me, communicate openly with me, and give me the opportunity to grow.

More than anything, I hope to find a host family where we can treat each other with kindness and respect. I would love to become someone your children can feel comfortable with and someone you can trust in your home. I hope that, with time, I would not feel like a stranger staying with your family, but someone who genuinely became a part of your lives.

Becoming an Au Pair would be my first step toward experiencing life outside my country, seeing more of the world, and learning things I could never learn by staying in my comfort zone. I want to make the most of this chapter of my life, meet wonderful people, experience another culture, and hopefully make a positive difference in the lives of the children I care for.
