Dear Host Family,
My name is Gwen, and I am from the Philippines. I recently graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Marine Biology, and I am currently looking for an opportunity to experience life in another country while becoming part of a warm and welcoming family.
I am interested in becoming an au pair because I would love to learn about a new culture, language, traditions, and way of life while also sharing my own Filipino culture with your family. I believe that living with a host family is a wonderful way to create meaningful connections and learn from each other.
I have experience being around and taking care of children, and I genuinely enjoy spending time with them. I am patient, responsible, caring, and willing to learn. I understand that every child has a different personality and needs, so I am willing to listen, adapt, and follow the parenting style and routines of the family. I would be happy to help with everyday activities such as preparing simple meals, helping children get ready, playing with them, reading, keeping them company, and helping with light household tasks related to the children.
I am also currently staying in a Christian youth organization, where I am regularly exposed to children and young people. This has helped me become more comfortable communicating with children and being responsible around them. I enjoy simple activities such as playing, talking, reading, doing creative activities, and spending time outdoors.
Aside from childcare, I am interested in learning your language and experiencing your culture. I would also be happy to share Filipino food, traditions, and some of the things I grew up with. I am open-minded and respectful toward different cultures, lifestyles, and family traditions.
I am a simple person who values respect, honesty, kindness, and good communication. I understand that moving to another country and living with a new family is a big step, so I am willing to communicate openly and learn what makes your family comfortable. I also hope to have a good relationship with the whole family rather than simply feeling like someone who is there to help.
I currently have a valid passport, but I would like to be honest that I do not yet have a visa for your country. I am still learning about the visa process and the requirements, and I would greatly appreciate guidance from the family if you decide that I could be a good match. I am willing to prepare the necessary documents and follow the proper legal process.
I am also serious about making a long-term commitment. If everything works well for both the family and me, I would be happy to stay for two to three years or according to the arrangement and visa conditions. I want to build a stable relationship with my host family and make the experience meaningful for everyone.
