My name is Samy, I’m 23 years old and I’m from Colombia. I would describe myself as a friendly, responsible and easygoing person. I enjoy cooking, travelling, taking photos, learning languages and spending time with the people around me.
I’m interested in becoming an au pair because I would really like to experience everyday life in another country, get to know a new culture and become part of a family. I think living with a host family is much more meaningful than simply visiting a country as a tourist. I would like to share my own culture with you as well and learn from your family and your way of life.
I enjoy spending time with children and I’m happy to be involved in their everyday life. I can play with them, help with homework, prepare simple meals, accompany them to activities and help with their daily routines. I understand that every family has its own routines and rules, and I’m willing to adapt and learn what works best for your family.
I’m also currently learning French and I would love to continue improving my language skills while living abroad. I speak English at a B2 level, so I’m comfortable communicating in English as well. I’m interested in languages in general and I enjoy learning through everyday conversations and experiences.
I have studied Tourism Business Administration at university and I’m currently continuing my studies in other languages. My previous studies and work experience have also taught me how to communicate with different kinds of people, be responsible with my tasks and adapt to different situations.
What I’m looking for most is a good relationship with my host family. I would like to feel welcome and included, but I also understand the importance of respecting your privacy and family routines. For me, being an au pair is about helping with the children while also becoming a positive part of the household.
I’m excited about the possibility of living abroad, becoming more independent, improving my languages and, most importantly, having a good experience with a family that I can connect with.
