Hello! My name is Mary, I am 17 years old and will turn 18 in October. I am from Texas in the United States, and I hope to spend my au pair experience somewhere in Europe, especially Austria or Germany. I am excited to experience a new culture and language, become more independent, and hopefully become part of a welcoming host family.

I have been caring for children professionally since 2023 through babysitting and nannying, with experience caring for children from 3 months to 14 years old. I have also frequently cared for a family with five children and regularly help care for my two young nephews, ages 4 and 16 months. I am comfortable caring for several children at once and with responsibilities such as meals, diapers, homework, activities, driving, naps and bedtime.

I am patient, responsible, creative, and organized. I believe every child deserves to feel seen and heard, and I always prioritize their safety and wellbeing. I enjoy reading and creating stories, playing imaginative games and board games, swimming, drawing, making music, learning, and spending time outdoors. I especially love activities that encourage children's curiosity and creativity.

Music is a big part of my life—I am a singer and play piano and guitar—and I would love to share that joy with your children. I also enjoy cooking and would love to involve children in simple cooking and homemaking activities.

My family has roots in Germany, so I have always had an interest in European culture. I would love to experience it through everyday life rather than simply as a tourist, while learning about my host family's traditions and sharing some of my own culture with them.

I am also Catholic, and my faith is an important part of my life. I respect that every family has its own beliefs and traditions, and I would never expect a host family to practice my faith. I simply hope to be able to continue practicing it respectfully during my time abroad.
