Introduction
Hi! My name is Veronica. I’m a very outgoing, energetic, caring, and down-to-earth person, and I genuinely love working with children. I’ve always enjoyed being around kids and being someone they can have fun with, talk to, and feel comfortable around. I love staying active, cooking, dancing, hiking, riding my bike, swimming, journaling, and exploring new places. I’m also pretty spontaneous and open to trying new things, so I’m always happy to find something fun to do with the kids I’m caring for. I think one of the most important things when working with children is simply being present and actually enjoying spending time with them.
For the past several months, I’ve worked as a teacher’s aide in a school setting, where I work with children with low-incidence disabilities, including children with other special needs: such as learning disabilities and autism .This has given me experience working with children who have different personalities, abilities, communication styles, and needs. I help throughout the school day with academics, activities, transitions, and whatever support the children need. Working in a school has taught me a lot about patience, flexibility, and paying attention to each individual child. I really enjoy seeing their personalities come out and watching them learn and accomplish things, even when they need a little extra help along the way.
I also have several years of experience nannying and babysitting for different families. I’ve cared for children ranging from babies and young children to teenagers, so I’m comfortable with different ages and stages. When I nanny, I like actually getting involved with the kids instead of just sitting around while they play. I enjoy going outside, playing games, doing crafts, cooking together, reading, going for walks, swimming, dancing, and finding things that they genuinely enjoy doing. I’m comfortable helping with meals, homework, bedtime routines, getting ready for school, cleaning up after the kids, and the everyday responsibilities that come with caring for children. I also understand that every family does things differently, so I always want to learn the parents’ routines and expectations and follow the way they want their children cared for.
One of my biggest childcare experiences was helping my sister with my niece. I lived with my sister and helped take care of my niece from around ten months old until she was about two and a half. My sister was a single mom and worked, so I was able to be there and help with my niece throughout that time. I got to experience a lot of the everyday parts of caring for a young child, from meals and playtime to naps, routines, keeping her entertained, and simply being there for her. Because I was around her so much, I really got to see her grow and develop her own little personality. That experience was very special to me and made me realize even more how much I enjoy taking care of children.
I’m someone who really loves being around kids and becoming part of their everyday lives. I like being the person who can make them laugh, help them when they need something, listen to their stories, and make an ordinary day more fun. I’m responsible and take childcare seriously, but I’m also not afraid to be silly, get involved, and have fun with them. I think children deserve someone who genuinely enjoys being around them, and that’s something I can honestly say about myself.
I would love the opportunity to become an au pair because I’m excited about both childcare and experiencing life in another country. I would love to become part of a family, get to know their children, share my own culture and experiences, and learn about theirs. I’m hoping to find a family where there is mutual respect, good communication, and a comfortable relationship where everyone feels like they can be themselves.
Most importantly, I love nannying and I love taking care of kids. I would be excited to become someone your children know they can count on, whether we’re having a normal afternoon at home, going somewhere together, cooking something, playing outside, or just talking about their day. I would be grateful for the opportunity to care for your children and become a positive part of their lives.
