Dear Future Au Pair,

We are so excited to meet you and hopefully welcome you into our family! We’re a family of four with two wonderful girls—Ellie, who is 7, and Evie, who is still a baby. Our home is busy, loving, and full of laughter, and we’re looking for someone who will become a special part of our family while sharing this experience with us.

One of the things that makes this opportunity especially meaningful to us is our hope to introduce more Mandarin into our girls’ everyday lives. We are specifically looking for a Chinese au pair who can speak Mandarin with the girls and help them develop a love for the language and culture. Host Dad speaks Chinese as well, so you won’t be navigating a completely unfamiliar language environment on your own. We hope that will make the transition to our family and to life in the U.S. a little easier and give you someone to communicate with when you need it.

We are an experienced host family and understand that a successful au pair experience is about much more than childcare. We want you to feel welcomed, supported, and genuinely included in our family, while also having the independence and freedom to build your own friendships, explore the area, and make wonderful memories during your time in the U.S.

Our girls are at different stages, which makes the role fun and varied. Ellie is energetic, curious, and loves having someone who will play with her, talk with her, and be part of her world. Evie is our little one, so we’re looking for someone who is comfortable with babies and excited to help her grow and learn.

We are looking for a warm, responsible, and proactive au pair to become an important part of our family and help care for our two daughters, Ellie (7) and Evie (9 months). This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys both baby care and connecting with an older child. We value initiative, good judgment, and someone who enjoys encouraging children, not simply supervising them.

Your Responsibilities

* Morning support: Help get the girls ready for the day, including helping with breakfast, dressing, and getting out the door.
* Afternoon & evening care: Pick Ellie up from school and Evie from daycare, then care for both girls through the evening.
* Baby care: Play with Evie, read to her, take her outside, and help her learn and explore safely.
* School-age care: Spend meaningful time with Ellie through play, crafts, reading, and imaginative activities.
* Homework & routines: Encourage Ellie with homework, math, piano, Mandarin practice, and cleaning up after herself. You’ll be an important partner in helping her develop good habits.
* Activities: Occasionally help get Ellie to activities such as Chinese lessons, choir, or other activities.
* Children’s chores: Help with children’s laundry, bottles, and keeping their spaces and belongings organized.
* Family partnership: Communicate with us about the girls, share ideas, and take initiative when you see something that needs to be done.
