We are a warm, English-speaking British family living in Areia, Cascais, looking for a kind, reliable and experienced full-time live-out nanny/housekeeper to join our family long-term.

?? Start: Ideally October/November 2026, so there is time to get to know our family and routines before our baby arrives in December.

???? 7-year-old girl – in school full-time
???? 4-year-old boy (turning 5) – in school full-time
???? Baby girl – due December 2026
?? One large, friendly dog

We are looking for someone who is confident and experienced with older children but who is also comfortable and happy caring for a newborn.

The role will be a combination of childcare, household help and being an extra pair of hands for the family. In particular, we would love someone who can:

• Care for our newborn, including being happy to look after the baby while Mum does the school run
• Help with the older children’s after-school and bedtime routines
• Be confident managing the children independently when needed, particularly when Dad is working away
• Help with general household organisation and keeping the home running smoothly
• Laundry, washing, folding and putting away clothes
• General tidying and housekeeping
• Keeping children’s rooms and belongings organised
• Help with the dog when needed, including occasional walks
• Babysitting and additional hours from time to time, by mutual agreement

We are *not* looking for someone to drive for the family, and cooking is *not* required as part of the role.

We are looking for someone who is:

?? Warm, kind and genuinely enjoys being around children
?? Experienced with both young children and babies/newborns
?? Calm, trustworthy and patient
? Proactive and organised, with good attention to detail
?? Someone who takes pride in keeping a home clean, tidy and well organised
?? Comfortable around dogs
???? Fluent/good spoken English is essential
???? Filipino/Filipina preferred, but not essential
?? Looking for a long-term position and who would enjoy becoming a trusted part of our family

Hours: Monday–Friday, approximately 12:00–20:00. We are happy to discuss the exact schedule with the right person.

We would also ideally like someone who is flexible and open to occasional babysitting, evenings or additional hours, when mutually agreed in advance.

Candidates should have the legal right to live and work in Portugal and be able to provide the relevant documentation for legal employment. We would also ask for references from previous families/employers and details of relevant childcare/newborn experience.
