Dear Au Pair,

after living in London for 12 years we are about to relocate to the wonderful Lake Constance close to the Alps so that our children can become "real skiers" as our family loves sport and outdoor activities..We have been living here in London with an Au Pair for the last 8 years and have always felt that our girls benefited greatly from the cultural and culinary enrichments that our Au Pairs have offered. Sarah and Isabelle are already asking about their next big sister... so in a nutshell our entire family is looking forward to welcoming you!

We are a happy, friendly, fun-loving and sporty family with two girls, Sarah (8) and Isabelle (almost 4). We like to spend as much time as possible doing outdoor activities such as skiing, cycling, hiking, playing tennis, swimming etc. We also love reading, travelling, history and other cultures and have always had lots of friends from all over the world. We are easy going but want our girls to grow up with good manners and respect for others, particularly other cultures and languages. As a result the girls will attend the Swiss International School in Friedrichshafen. We are looking for an English speaking Au Pair so that our girls can continue speaking English as much as possible. Of course it would be fantastic if you also wanted to learn some German...:-)

As a family we try to make the best of what life has to offer whilst eating healthily and encouraging the girls to do many interesting things as opposed to watching TV.

Our girls love reading, ballet, swimming, lots of sports and having friends around. We like to have a house full of people and always welcome visitors and as such you are welcome to invite your family or friends for a visit. Sarah, our firstborn, is a real gem, very grown up and responsible and always worrying about others. Our little one, Isabelle, is a bit on the mischievous side - but very funny and a bit of a clown. Overall they are really nice girls looking out for one another. We consider our Au Pair part of our family and as a result all of our Au Pairs have become good friends whilst they stayed with us. We are still in contact with our previous Au-Pairs who would be delighted to provide references and tell you more about our family.

We are moving into a large semi-attached house with 5 bedrooms where you will have your own bedroom and share a bathroom with the two girls. The house is brand new and comfortable. It is in a little town called Langenargen and is not only located directly on Lake Constance but also one of the sunniest towns in Germany. There is plenty to do in Langenargen with a yacht club, a large outdoor swimming pool, tennis grounds and plenty of activities. Both Munich and Zurich are just 1.5 hours away. There is also a local airport with cheap flights all across Europe.

We also have a Ski chalet in Switzerland and are planning to spend many weekends skiing - you are welcome to join us if you like! .

We are looking for a happy, friendly, open and reliable young girl who would like to try a new experience in another country. We are looking forward to welcoming you into our family and ideally you love children and share some of our hobbies. In terms of daily activities we may ask you to take the girls to school if both of us are unable to. We would also ask you to do light house work such as ironing, tidying the kitchen, keeping the girls rooms and toys tidy as well as help preparing breakfast and dinner. Most afternoons you would pick the girls up from school at 3.30pm (it takes 15 min by car or by train) and either take them to some afternoon clubs or home. At home we would ask you to help with the homework, help preparing dinner and putting the girls to bed. During the mornings after the girls left for school you have free time to study or explore the area...
