Au Pair job description

You will help prepare meals, help Jean to get ready to go to school, take him to school, do a few (2 to 3) hours/day of household work, get Jean at school for lunch, help prepare dinner or play with Jean, make sure he takes his bath (lol), and have dinner. School, super market, bus etc... are at walking distance, but you MUST have a clean drivers's licence -at least 2 years old for car insurance purposes- , and be a safe driver. Jean understands French of course, a little English -he is learning English, German and Portuguese (he was born in Brazil) PLEASE DO NOT APPLY if you do not drive, or if you are a smoker.

Family's Message to Au Pairs

IMPORTANT FOR NON EC CITIZEN: Because the visa procedure costs time, money and a bit of headache for the family, and because I am tired of non serious candidates, please only apply if you are REALY considering our offer. Non EC citizen, depending on the country of origin, can stay up to 3 months without visa. NO NEED for a visa EC Citizen. I am looking for someone to become a member of the family, 150% reliable and responsable since I travel sometimes for my work, and will leave my son with her. (sometimes too we will travel all together) You must be organized, very clean, mature and able to deal with a superhero Living conditions are very good: own -large- room, w/TV and sound system, and own bathroom, OR (aupair n°2): own mid size room w/TV and sound, sharing bathroom with Jean. Our house is in the best neighbourhood of town, and has a large garden. A car is at your disposal (you must have a clean drivers licence, at least 2 years old) for use when needed for your job. I will supply a bicycle (Colmar is a bicycle oriented city) I will also pay for the french courses at the Chamber of Commerce. I will pay for your social security coverage (health coverage) and civil responsability insurance. You will travel with us when we go away for week ends -we go to Paris often- and vacation (in and out of France). You will also have enough free time to study, do sports, cultural activities etc....
