Au Pair's Message to Families

Dear Family, I am a recent graduate of University who is applying to be a diplomat and is in the middle of a very long application process for a job. I majored in Fine Arts and Minored in History, but I am interested in many different things. I love to draw and paint and be creative in different ways. I have many years of babysitting experience and have cared for infants and children up to 12 years of age. I enjoy doing artistic and creative/imaginative projects with children and just having fun with them. I have taught english as a second language to children in China and would not mind taking the time to teach english to your children or even just speaking to them in a way that would be helpful in learning. I speak conversational french and Italian. I Have lived and worked overseas in the past and am very interested in working as an aupair, not just for the chance to work with children but for the cultural experience. I am clean and respectful, I received very good grades and attended an excellent University in upstate New York and am hoping to have a career in international diplomacy. I am hoping that you will be an open and active family that will show me your culture and welcome me into your home with an open mind. I love children and going for walks with them and just listening to what they have to say. I believe that children are often the most enlightened beings on the earth. I am usually rather quiet and relaxed, although love conversation and being social as well. I enjoy both city life and country life. So if your child enjoys being creative, reading, or being read to, and just playing around and being imaginative I think we will get along well. I also enjoy taking walks and playing the piano, cooking, reading, playing sports, swimming, riding horses, traveling, good food, many different things, and i like new things and new experiences. I have an open mind and I will do whatever I can to help you out! I hope we'll meet soon!
