Au Pair/Nanny job description

We have a seven year old daughter and two year old son. We need someone to pick them up from daycare/school at 2:30 each day and stay with them until we get home. Must have reliable transportation and a driver's license. Must be punctual. Must be able to assist in the following: Napping/Putting to bed, Play time/Educational activities, Meals, Outdoor activities/Exercise (ride bike, swim), Bathing/Dressing, Supervise age appropriate chores, assist children in keeping their rooms and play areas tidy, tidy closets and drawers, children’s laundry, Drive children to and from activities, Help with homework. We have a housekeeping service, but do need the nanny/au pair to do light housekeeping in between visits, including Empty/Load Dishwasher, Clean kitchen counters, stove, microwave, sink (clean up after self/children), Dust, Vacuum rooms, Straighten bathrooms/change towels as needed, Gather trash/Empty wastepaper baskets (when full), Laundry, Occasional simple meal preparation

Family's Message to Au Pairs and Nannies

Dear Au Pair or nanny, We are an active, busy family with two children, ages two and seven. We are looking for a mature, loving, responsible, active, organized, fun person to care for our children while we are at work. The children go to daycare/school during the day, we need someone to pick them up at 2:30 and stay with them until we get home. In addition, if you are available, you would stay with them on days that daycare/school is closed. We would like for you to create and maintain a safe and healthy environment for our children. It is the number one priority to keep the children safe at all times. We would also like for you to respect our children as a unique individual and treat the children with kindness and respect, be creative in planning activities which promote physical, emotional, intellectual and social development, and provide developmentally appropriate play and learning experiences (especially for the two year old). The children are respectful and well behaved, bright and very loving. We are kind and generous, we respect that you have a life outside of working for us. That being said, we would treat you as an extended member of our family and invite you to join us (no obligation) in non work events such as holidays or birthdays. We do not expect you to do more for us than we do for you, meaning we arrive home when we say we will and we pay your salary on time. We hope to find someone who is a good fit with our family and who will stay with us for at least a year, perhaps longer. Our last nanny was with us for over two years, and we will miss her, but we are excited at the prospect of meeting YOU!
