French family looking for an english tutor for our 4 years old son. No Housekeeping. Independant studio appartment.

Family's Message to Au Pairs and Nannies

1) qualities most important to us in the aupair/nanny that we will hire? Educated and open minded, mature enough to understand what a year away from her/his family means, independant, decisive, punctual. 2) Duties expected of the aupair/nanny? We are looking for an english tutor for Edouard. It implies that we expect the au pair to speak only english at home. Our understanding of “tutoring” is: - playing with him, using his toys to live great adventures in his room when it is rainy - playing “soccer” when it is not. - having as many “field trips” as possible: museums, supermarkets, building sites, “subway concerts”, ... Any idea is welcome as long the au pair creates opportunities for new vocabulary and experiences. - We do not expect any formal tutoring. Edouard will soon start to read in french and it is very important we do not start any “phonics” work in english at the same time. We do expect though the tutor helps him with his grammar. 3) rough idea of the schedule? 30 hours per week After school (3pm till 7pm) 3 times a week, Friday evening, Saturday all day 4) compensation offered : 100 euros per week + 50 euros per week for the food + independant studio appartement. 5) Start date Sept 08/october 08
