Family's Introduction to Nanny
Thank you so much for your application and for taking the time to read our profile. I really appreciate your interest and would love to tell you a little more about our family.
We have three wonderful children aged 5, 4 and 2. Our home is in Dubai for most of the year, and every summer we move to Southern Spain.
Our family has Palestinian Jordanian, British, Irish and European roots, so languages and different cultures have always been an important part of our lives. Our eldest attends a bilingual English and Arabic school, but I've learned that children develop languages best through everyday experiences rather than formal lessons.
A few years ago, we welcomed a live in Spanish tutor into our home. The children learned naturally through stories, games, songs and everyday conversations, and their progress was incredible. I'd now love to create that same experience with Levantine Arabic.
I'm looking for someone warm, patient and engaging who genuinely enjoys spending time with young children. The role is centred around speaking Arabic during play, mealtimes, reading books, outings and daily routines. There is no expectation to deliver classroom-style lessons. My hope is simply that Arabic becomes a natural part of family life.
I'd also love the opportunity to improve my own conversational Arabic alongside the children, having grown up away from my Arabic-speaking family.
If you feel this opportunity could be a good fit, I'd love to learn a little more about you.
Could you please tell me:
• Where are you currently living?
• What is your nationality and which Arabic dialect do you speak?
• Do you have experience with children under five years old?
• Have you worked as a live in nanny, tutor or au pair before?
• When would you be available to start?
• Are you happy to travel between Dubai and Southern Spain?
• What attracted you to this opportunity?
Thank you again for your application. I look forward to hearing more about you and, if we're a good match, arranging a video call.
Best wishes,
Aysha
Job Description
Dubai, UAE & Southern Spain | 6–12 Month Position
Hello!
Thank you for taking the time to read our profile.
I'm looking for a caring, enthusiastic Arabic speaking nanny or language tutor to become part of our family. My hope is to create a natural Levantine Arabic immersion environment for my children through play, storytelling, songs, games and everyday conversation rather than formal lessons.
This is a wonderful opportunity for someone who enjoys working with young children and would like to experience life with a warm, multicultural family living between Dubai and Southern Spain.
About Our Family
I'm half Palestinian Jordanian, half British / Irish, and my husband is Irish. We have three wonderful children aged 5, 4 and 2.
Our home is in Dubai, where our eldest attends a bilingual English and Arabic school. Every summer, from mid June until mid September, we move to our home in Southern Spain.
A few years ago, we welcomed a live in Spanish tutor into our family. The children learned through stories, games, songs and everyday conversation, and their progress amazed us. I'd now love to create that same experience with Levantine Arabic.
Sadly, I didn't have the opportunity to learn Arabic while growing up, so this role would also help me and my husband become more confident speaking Arabic in everyday life.
The Role
I'm not looking for someone to teach formal lessons. My goal is for Arabic to become part of our daily routine in a fun, relaxed and natural way.
Most of your time with the children will be spent during meals, free play, reading together, outings and bedtime routines. The simple conversations that happen throughout the day are often the most valuable.
The children attend activities during the week, so the role is focused on creating meaningful Arabic conversations whenever we're together rather than filling long working hours.
The Person I'm Looking For
I'd love to hear from someone who is:
- A native or fluent Levantine Arabic speaker
- Warm, kind and genuinely enjoys spending time with young children
- Creative, playful and engaging
- Experienced in childcare, tutoring or early years education, although this isn't essential
- Happy travelling between Dubai and Southern Spain
- Looking for a role where they become part of family life rather than simply an employee
What I Offer
- A private studio in both Dubai and Spain
- All accommodation and living expenses covered
- Visa Sponsorship
- A warm, respectful and supportive family environment
- Plenty of personal time to relax, explore and enjoy your surroundings
- The opportunity to make a lasting difference to three young children while sharing your language and culture
Preferred Candidate
- Female
- Between 28 and 55 years old
- Non smoker
- Comfortable travelling internationally
- An EU, UK or Arabic country passport would be helpful, although it isn't essential
Duration
Ideally, I'm looking for someone who can join us for 6 to 12 months, with the possibility of staying longer if we're a great fit for one another.
Get in Touch
If this sounds like something you'd enjoy, I'd love to hear from you. Please tell me a little about yourself, your experience with children, your Arabic background and what attracted you to our family.
I look forward to meeting you.
