Dear Au Pair,

Welcome to our family! This is going to be a wonderful year for all of us. Not only will you have the chance to experience life in America, but our family will also get to learn about your culture and build a lasting friendship. Let us introduce ourselves.

We are the Chin family, and we live in San Antonio, Texas, the 7th largest city in the USA. Our town offers a perfect mix of city amenities and outdoor activities, so there’s always something fun to do. Whether it’s exploring local parks, watching a movie, or trying out new restaurants, there’s plenty to enjoy here.

Our family includes two working medical professions, Eric and Karen, and two lovely boys, Nathan, 14, and Noah, 12. Nathan is a curious and thoughtful teenager who enjoys reading, playing piano, and spending time with family. Noah, on the other hand, is soft spoken, affectionate, and into creative projects and activities that require building.

Both of us are shift workers working irregular schedules. Karen and Eric both work in healthcare. Our childcare needs are centered around morning preparation for school, driving to school, then in the late afternoon picking up the kids from school. You’ll help with getting the boys to and from their activities or school and occasionally assist with meals or light housework.

In our free time, we love spending time together. Whether it’s watching a movie, going on vacations, reading a good book, exploring new restaurants, family time is important to us. We welcome you to join in on these activities or take some personal time for yourself. We also like to explore new places, so there may be opportunities for you to join us on some of our adventures. Our hope is that you will help us on our journey to develop our two kids for adulthood by bringing your international perspective into our family.

We believe in open communication, mutual respect, and honesty. If you ever have questions or need help, don’t hesitate to ask. Your happiness and comfort are very important to us, and we’ll do our best to ensure you have a fulfilling experience during your time with us.

We are a family of four living in the suburbs in San Antonio, a vibrant and family-friendly area with plenty of opportunities to explore and enjoy. As two working professional parents, we value our time together and enjoy staying active, traveling, and spending quality moments with our teenage boys, who are 12 and 14 years old. Both are energetic, curious, and involved in sports, school activities, and hobbies like gaming, reading, and outdoor adventures.

We are mainly looking for someone to assist with getting our kids to/from school, serve as a big brother/sister to help our kids develop important life skills and independence, and someone who is adaptable.

Our household is lively but organized, and we strive to create a supportive and welcoming environment. We have two adorable labradoodles, and enjoy laidback but active lifestyle that includes community events, outdoor recreation, and occasional weekend getaways. We value open communication and mutual respect and hope to share our culture while learning about yours.
