Family's Introduction to Au Pair
We're a warm, hands-on family with three young children, including a 1-year-old toddler, and we'd love to find an au pair who's excited to become a real part of our daily life — not just someone who works for us, but someone who feels like family. Dad works from home, and Mom is very present and involved in day-to-day care, especially with our youngest, so this is a true team environment where we work alongside each other rather than you being on your own with the kids all day.
We homeschool our children in a way that's age-appropriate and centered on play, curiosity, and everyday learning — think hands-on activities, outdoor time, and following the kids' natural interests rather than a rigid classroom structure. Our home is calm, playful, and rooted in kindness and emotional connection. We try to guide our children with patience rather than pressure, and we're looking for someone who shares that same gentle, steady approach.
We're looking for someone who genuinely loves being around young children, enjoys teamwork, and is excited about building trust with us over time. In return, we want to make sure you feel supported too — with a private room, a competitive stipend, honored time off, and encouragement to build your own life here, whether that's taking classes, making friends, or exploring the area.
We know choosing a host family is a big decision, and we want you to feel confident that you'd be joining a home where you're respected, included, and genuinely cared about. We'd love to get to know you and see if we might be a good fit for each other!
Job Description
We are a warm, hands-on family with three young children, including an infant, looking for a caring and engaged au pair to join our home. We homeschool in an age-appropriate way that centers on play, curiosity, and everyday learning — so you'll be joining a household that values connection, patience, and calm guidance over rigid structure. Dad works from home, and Mom is actively present and involved in daily life and infant care, so this is a true team environment, not a hands-off setup.
Responsibilities:
Support morning routines and getting the children ready for the day
Prepare meals and snacks for the children
Assist with age-appropriate homeschool activities, homework help, and hands-on learning
Lead outdoor play, walks, and active time
Practice language skills through everyday conversation with the children
Plan and lead arts and crafts and creative projects
Help keep the children organized and on track through daily transitions
Support infant care alongside Mom (feeding, soothing, supervised play)
Manage bedtime routines, including bath, pajamas, and story time
What We're Looking For:
Someone who genuinely enjoys young children and infant care
A team player who communicates openly and builds trust easily
Patience and warmth, with an interest in play-based and curiosity-driven learning
Comfort being part of daily family life, not just a scheduled worker
What We Offer:
A private bedroom in a warm, connected home
Competitive weekly stipend ($210–230, based on experience)
Two weeks of paid vacation, plus regular time off that we honor consistently
Support for your own education, friendships, and independence during your time with us
Inclusion in family meals, outings, and holidays — you'll be treated as part of the family, not staff
A calm, kind, emotionally supportive home environment to live and grow in
We're excited to find someone who wants to build something meaningful with our family — not just a job, but a real, trusted partnership in caring for our children.
