Family's Introduction to Au Pair
A bit about us:
I’m Alli, mom of three boys. I’m extremely active and energetic—I’ve run marathons all over the world and love skiing, golf, and tennis. I run my own travel business, so I work from home most days and also travel regularly. I’m passionate about what I do and creating a balanced, joyful home life.
My husband, John, is an investor and very engaged in day-to-day family life. He’s the one you’ll often find in the kitchen—he’s the cook in the family—and he also coaches baseball, plays squash, and loves all things sports.
Our oldest son, Noah (12), goes to Riverdale and is a very responsible and thoughtful big brother. He plays baseball and tennis, skis, loves to read, and is especially strong in math and science. He’s also into chess and always very diligent with his homework. He’s calm, caring, and easy to be around.
Our middle son, Zach (9), is in school just a few blocks from home. He’s incredibly sweet, outgoing, and a total sports lover—especially baseball (he’s on a travel team). He also loves skiing, hanging with friends, and is great at math. He's very spirited, and playful. He adores his baby brother.
Our home is full of love, activity, and laughter. We value kindness, respect, and open communication. While your primary focus will be our baby, you’ll be part of a family that enjoys being together, staying active, and supporting one another.
We can’t wait to meet someone who loves babies, is warm and active, and would enjoy spending time with us in NYC. We’re looking forward to welcoming the right person into our lives—and our home.
Job Description
We’d love to welcome someone who feels excited to become part of our family—someone who genuinely loves babies, has experience with young toddlers, and brings a joyful, nurturing energy to our home. We are conveniently located in lower Manhattan - a perfect spot to explore all of New York!
Key qualities we’re looking for:
Experience caring for toddlers (feeding, ensuring nap/sleep schedule, developmental play, coordinating baby playdates and finding activities for the baby, etc.)
Enthusiastic, sweet, and naturally nurturing
Clean, responsible, and organized
Energetic and active—bonus if you enjoy sports or outdoor play
Comfortable with a flexible weekly schedule, including some evenings and occasional weekends (especially Saturdays)
Fluent in English (a second language is a plus)
Non-smoker; not into partying
Comfortable occasionally traveling with our family (summer, weekends and/or some holidays)
Daily responsibilities include:
Full-day care of the baby, including feeding, naps, diapering, and taking him to local baby-friendly activities or walks
Helping maintain a nap and sleep schedule
Light household help while the baby naps (baby laundry, tidying common areas, helping with meals or dishes)
Occasional help with our older children as needed including helping them organize and keep their room tidy
We would love to hear examples of how you enjoy spending time with babies or children—whether that’s reading books, singing, sensory play, taking them to the park, or engaging in age-appropriate learning activities.
Other details/Benefits:
You do not need to drive—we are based in NYC with access to everything you need by foot or public transport
Private and comfortable living accommodations included
Fair pay, room and board
MetroCard/public transport stipend
Mobile Phone
A respectful, inclusive family environment and the chance to experience all NYC has to offer
You will have free time to explore NYC and support connecting with other au pairs or expat communities
