Family's Introduction to Au Pair

Hello,
We’re so glad you’re considering our family.
We are Brian and Amanda, a family of three living in Memphis, Tennessee. We are both creative professionals working in marketing and design — Brian works from home and Amanda works both from home and at her office.
Our son Levi is 10 years old. He was born very prematurely and has worked incredibly hard to overcome many challenges. He just learned to walk independently 1 year ago, seizure-free for nearly seven years, and continuing to surprise us with his determination and growth.
Levi is joyful, strong-willed, and deeply loving. He enjoys music, swimming, animals, and being outdoors. He thrives with one-on-one attention and forms strong bonds with the people who care for him.
We are looking for someone who sees this role as meaningful — not just a job, but an opportunity to truly impact a child’s life. The right person will be patient, calm, adaptable, and genuinely enjoy helping a child grow in confidence and independence.
We value kindness, open communication, and mutual respect. We want our caregiver to feel supported and appreciated.
If you feel connected to what you’ve read, we would love to learn more about you.
Warmly,
Brian & Amanda
Thanks for your consideration.

Job Description

We are looking for a caring, patient and dependable caregiver to help care for our son Levi, Monday–Friday. Pay is negotiable.
About Levi:
Levi is 10 years old. He was born very early and has cerebral palsy and epilepsy. The great news: he has not had a seizure in almost 7 years. He is strong, determined and very loving.
Levi just learned how to walk independently, go up and down stairs with help, and communicate using words and an eye-gaze device. He understands much more than he can say. He loves music, swimming, animals, being outside and going on outings.
Levi now attends school. We need someone to support him before and after school and help with appointments and therapies.
Your Responsibilities Would Include:
• Drive Levi to school, therapy and doctor appointments
• Help with meals and bathroom routine (including potty training)
• Support daily physical therapy and mobility exercises at home
• Encourage communication (talking and using his device)
• Engage in play, reading, music and outdoor activities
• Provide physical assistance when needed (including occasional lifting)
• Give Levi your full attention and care while on duty
We are looking for someone who:
• Is patient and kind
• Is calm and flexible
• Enjoys working with children with special needs
• Has a driver’s license
• Can lift and assist a 10-year-old child when needed
• Wants to build a real bond with Levi
Some days are easy and fun. Some days are harder. Levi needs someone who can adapt and give encouragement, structure and love.
For Live-In Option We Provide:
• Private bedroom with TV, desk, computer and personal bathroom in our home
• Meals and groceries
• Internet access
• Paid time off
• Access to neighborhood pool
• Zoo membership
Inclusion in family activities (optional but welcome). In the past we have brought our au pair on family vacations.
We are a loving, supportive family. Levi has made incredible progress with one-on-one care, and we are looking for someone who wants to be part of helping him continue to grow.
If you are nurturing, responsible and want meaningful work, we would love to hear from you.
