Hi future au pairs. We are so excited to begin this journey to find an au pair that gives our children a safe, caring, and enriching experience.
Our story is like many other American families. My husband is Russian, and I am Dominican and we met while serving in the US Marine Corps. My extended family lives in New Jersey, while my husband's family is here in Minnesota, but we do visit New Jersey at least twice per year and make it out to New York City since it's very close to my hometown. We have two little boys that are loud, full of energy, and incredibly funny. Mikah is five years old, and is a typical boy- he enjoys trucks, getting dirty in the mud, and is currently obsessed with fart jokes. Ray is three years old, and is very sweet, athletic, likes Paw Patrol, Spiderman, and his teddy bears.
Our home in MN is an older farm house that sits on 8 acres of land, and is surrounded by sod fields. However, we will be moving to Amarillo Texas in May of this year!! We have two dogs, Coco and Marshall that are pretty large great Pyrenees breeds. They are very very friendly and cuddly.
My husband enjoys working on his trucks, and spending time outside with the boys. I enjoy reading, running, and volunteering for kid activities like coaching toddler soccer. My husband is a Superintendent at a general contractor company, and I am a Wildfire Emergency Manager for an electric utility company.
Our typical work weeks are busy with kid activities like soccer, swimming, or wrestling. On the weekends we like to get outside to do something active like taking the kids on bike rides, going hiking, going to the cabin, hunting, or taking the kids to a trampoline park. On Sundays we go to a Baptist church nearby that provides care/ Sunday school for our kids.
We have a family trip planned to Hawaii in April and would want our Au Pair to come with us!!
We are pretty chill parents, the most important aspects of childcare are the safety of our children, and the life skills they need to build at this early stage in life which are kindness, empathy, respect, self-advocacy, and independence. We would love to find an Au Pair that shares this vision and can help us reinforce these important life lessons through enriching experiences.

A typical day my husband and I would leave by 7:30 to work. The au pair would give the boys breakfast, get them ready and take our oldest to a half day preschool that starts at 9am. Our 3 year old son would stay with the au pair and take trips to the library and have engaging activities until 12. Our Au Pair would then pick up Mikah and make lunch for the boys, and then put them down for a nap. Once kids are up we would encourage as much outside physical time as able.
During working hours that kids are at school or asleep, we would really appreciate help with some kid related household duties like laundry, and organizing their playrooms.
My husband and I get home between 4-5pm. We typically have kid sports in the evenings., then make dinner and put the boys down by 8pm.
Au pair working hours would be 7:30-4:30 Tuesday through Thursday. Mondays and Fridays would be shorter days.
We would provide a vehicle for our au pair to drive around the kids, and have ability to get around herself on her off time. We also have a MacBook, iPhone, and Smart TV for our Au Pair.
I travel about once a month for work, and would love to take the Au Pair and kids with me when able. We have a family trip coming up in April to Hawaii and would be great to bring our new Au Pair with us.
We are a small family, and want to find someone that can become a part of our family and our village.
