Dear Host Family,

My name is Jana, and I am originally from Egypt. I am currently living in Luxembourg, where I work at the European Investment Bank, but beyond my professional life, what has always mattered most to me is connecting with people, helping others, and being involved in my community.

Over the years, I have been actively involved in volunteering and youth activities. I am a volunteer with the Egyptian Red Crescent and have also spent time volunteering at a local orphanage. These experiences have taught me patience, empathy, and the importance of creating a supportive environment for children and young people. Some of my favourite moments have been simply spending time with children, listening to their stories, helping with activities, and seeing their confidence grow.

Since secondary school, I have also dedicated much of my time to Model United Nations. What started as a hobby eventually became a major part of my life. I served as Secretary-General, Club President, and Secretariat member, helping organise conferences and activities for hundreds of students. Through these experiences, I learned how to mentor younger students, help them build confidence, solve problems, and create a welcoming environment where everyone feels included.

I have always enjoyed working with people from different cultures and backgrounds. Whether through volunteering, international conferences, student exchanges, or now working in a multicultural environment in Europe, I have met people from all over the world and learned to adapt easily to new situations. I believe this is one of the reasons I am excited about becoming an au pair: I love learning from others while also sharing my own culture and experiences.

Friends would describe me as warm, responsible, open-minded, and someone who genuinely cares about others. I am equally happy planning fun activities, helping with homework, being creative, or simply spending quality time together. I enjoy reading, travelling, discovering new cultures, classical music, art, and spending time outdoors.

For me, being an au pair is much more than travelling to a new country. It is about becoming part of a family's daily life, building meaningful relationships, and creating memories that both the children and I will remember for years to come.
